Mrs. Leonard was born March 23, 1939 in Rowan County to Paul Junior Cope and Katherine Lyerly Cope. She was a homemaker and taught hearing impaired at North Davidson for several years. Carolyn was a Charter member of Cross Point Church.
Surviving is her husband of 60 years, Kenneth Norman Leonard of the home; two sons, Andy Leonard of Lexington, Jody Leonard of Tyro; a daughter, Jill Kirby (Louis) of Roanoke, VA; four grandchildren, John Walser, Jennifer Emerson (Zach), Jordan Leonard, Jailyn Walser; two great grandchildren, Macie Emerson, Victoria Leonard; a brother, Paul W. Cope (Linda) of Vienna, VA; three sisters, Candy Medinger (Grey) of Spencer, Kathy Isenhour (Dewey) of Eden and Tracey Hutchins (Randy) of Jamestown.
