He was of the Methodist Faith. Ed was a retired Navy Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He had the rank of Lieutenant Commander, serving as an Aircraft Organizational Maintaince Officer, as well as a Naval Air Training and Operational Procedures Standardization Officer. He was very proud of his service to his country, receiving numerous awards; The Navy Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation ( 2 awards), Air Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with a bronze Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Navy Pistol Marksmanship Ribbon with Bronze Star, Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces Meritorious Unit Citation, ( Gallantry Cross), Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation ( First Class Color with Palm). He dearly loved telling stories about his military career.
Ed loved his animals, giving each one of them a name. He loved being outdoors working on his farm along with his wife. He was also a retired principal of Lockesburg School Systems.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Edward Browning Boswell, Jr.
His survivors include his best friend and the love of his life, his wife, one daughter, two grandsons, one granddaughter as well as a large host of special friends and family.
Services will be Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 10 am at Nashville Funeral home with Ronnie Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery near Mineral Springs. Memorials may be made to the Shiloh Cemetery in his honor.
