Claire graduated from Milton High School in 1951. She was very social and had several close friends. She was especially close to her high school "club" which she kept in contact with up until her death in May 2016. These friends, Janet, Ellie, and Marylin were close for over 75 years. They attended kindergarten together and kept in contact throughout their entire adult lives.
Claire married Frank Kannegieser and were devoted to each other for 52 years. They had one daughter, Joan Kannegieser, who was born in 1960. They also had one son, John Kannegieser who was born in 1971.
Claire's focus was on her family. She was an excellent cook and always made every holiday special. She loved to entertain and have friends visit her in Hanover and Brewster on Cape Cod.
Claire loved the beach and spending time on the Cape. She enjoyed driving out on the dunes on Nauset Beach and having cookouts while watching the sunset.
In addition to her family responsibilities, Claire also worked in Boston at Massachusetts Bankers Association. She worked at Mass Bankers until her retirement in 1994.
Claire developed Alzheimer's Disease in her later life and lived with the disease since 2013. As the disease progressed Claire never forgot the childhood hymns she learned growing up. To my amazement, she was still harmonizing and singing these hymns until her death in May of 2016.
Claire will always be remembered as a true friend, wife, and mother. Her world revolved around her family and bringing happiness to everyone. Claire was a special person who is greatly missed by her family and friends.
