“Peter cared deeply about our YMCA. His business savvy was balanced by his passion for serving all, regardless of one’s ability to pay. I valued his wisdom and relied on his guidance to lead our organization and best serve our community. He indeed left a mark on our Central Community Branch and believed it to be an anchor in the Main South neighborhood. He was instrumental in the 1982 Capitol Campaign where he lead over 200 volunteers in raising more than $5 million to improve the facility to deepen our impact.

One of the things I admired most was Peter’s generosity. He defined the dedication and commitment needed to act as a true steward of the Y’s cause.”

“ . . . we bought a 1913 Model T touring car in 1972 to qualify for transcontinental touring with pre-World War I cars under the banner of the Veteran Motor Car Club of America (VMCCA).

Since 1976 we have participated in four transcontinental tours . . . in 1987, a transatlantic tour to Great Britain, covering England, Wales and Scotland. We traveled nearly 40,000 miles at a cruising speed of 35 mph, mostly on scenic secondary roads – a thoroughly enjoyable pastime.”
