Perry D. Hensley
Asheville, N.C. - Perry D. Hensley, 72, of 104 Hemphill Road, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006.
Perry was born April 28, 1934, in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy. After Perry's retirement from Paragon Corporation, he was employed part-time at the Bayshore Company. He served as chairman of the Woodlawn Cemetery committee, and in his spare time enjoyed trout fishing.
He was the son of the late Kenneth and Grace Lunsford Hensley.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Jean Mundy Hensley; daughter, Kathie H. Gaddy and husband, Mel, of Georgetown, Mass., Kristy H. Allen and husband, Greg, of Leicester, and Beth H. Cooper and husband, Lee, of Dallas, Texas; son, Donny Hensley of Asheville; daughter-in-law, Susan Hensley of Asheville; brother, B.E. Hensley and wife, Dorothy, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Oakley Baptist Church with the Revs. Thomas Pierce and Tim Yale officiating.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, where the body will remain until placed in the church one hour prior to the services.
At other times, the family will be at the residence.
