Funeral services for Lorene E. Baker, 88, will be held Thurs., Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Grigsby, of the Church of Christ, officiating. She died Mon., Oct. 16 in Sapulpa.
Born Aug. 12, 1918 in Okfuskee County to William Bill and Liza (Hendricks) Smith, she graduated from Lone Star Schools. She retired after more than 30 years of employment with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. After retirement in 1981 she moved to Eufaula. She remained in Eufaula until 2001 when she moved to Sapulpa. She loved to travel and also loved her family very much.
Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include two sons, Floyd Dale Baker and wife, Sue, of San Antonio, Tex., and Jerry Baker and wife, Jeannie, of Las Vegas, Nev.; one daughter, Karen Sue Neafus of Mounds; one brother, Joe B. Smith and wife, Lucille, of Muskogee; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bryan McCart, Brent Bullard, Mike Hall, Randy McCart, Buddy McCoy, Brett Baker and Jeff Donner.
Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home.
