Michael "Mike" Wooldridge, 65, passed unexpectedly at his home in Bettendorf, on Friday, January 22, 2010.

He was born to Maurice and Margaret Wooldridge and was raised in Davenport, where he lived until he transferred to Springfield, Ohio, for his job at Navistar. While in Springfield, he married the love of his life, Sandra (Motley) Teshak, also a former resident of the Quad Cities. They returned to the Quad Cities in 1996, upon his retirement.

He then operated a successful framing business. His talent and eye for detail brought him clients from around the globe. He also dedicated himself to his love of collecting. His collections over the years included classic cars and gas pumps. Most recently, he was recognized as the foremost collector in the country for the works of the renowned artist of the pin-up age, Rolf Armstrong. This collection led him to co-author two books, "Pin-Up Dreams" which was number one on the New York Times Best Seller List for nonfiction and "The Glamour Girl: A Collector's Guide to Rolf Armstrong". We know that Mike's passion, dedication and knowledge will be dearly missed and a loss felt for many years in the world of pin-up and Frankart.

Mike was well-known for his irreverent humor and dry wit, which was shared with his beloved Taco Tuesday Group. They all brought joy to his life.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and all of his siblings, Rosemary, Patricia, Paul and Bill.

Mike is survived by his wife, Sandy, and his stepchildren, Pamela and Tony Davis, Lorie and Calvin Johnson, Penny and Donald Fullarton, Tony Teshak, Tim and Tony Teshak-Verdon, Ted and Marta Teshak, and Connie Teshak, the mother of his grandchildren, Breanna and Cody. His grandchildren, Vaitari Anderson, Percy Moore, Marcus Moore, Breanna Teshak and Cody Teshak will forever hold "Poppa Mike" in their hearts.

Mike was a big man with a big heart, a tender giant. Although he had no biological children, he opened his heart to each and every one of Sandy's children and grandchildren. There are no words to express the boundless love, acceptance and tolerance for his kids. Mike loved well and was well loved many times over in return. Our hearts will be with him forever. Not to be forgotten is his sidekick, Zoe, who was faithfully by his side at his passing.

Per Mike's wishes, a simple gathering of family and friends will be held at Weerts Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. Please feel free to stop by and share a memory or two. A private burial will be conducted with the family at a later date.

The family thanks the Bettendorf Police Department, Bettendorf Police Alumni and the Wagle family for their support, and all of our family and friends for the outpouring of love.

We will always love you, Poppa Mike.
