Jim M. Thompson, age 83, of Luckey, OH, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at the Otterbein Portage Valley Senior Lifestyle Community, Pemberville, OH.

He was born on November 28, 1932 in Rossford, OH to Fred and Ledora (Frederick) Thompson.

Jim married Norma Lou Walker on September 10, 1955 who preceded him in death on March 4, 1992.

On December 6, 1992 Jim was married to Mary Ann McDermont in Luckey, Ohio.

He worked as an electrician for Owens Illinois, Libbey Owens Ford and for Fremont Plastics where he retired from in 2000.

Jim was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Luckey where he was involved in numerous ministries including President of the Luckey Couples.

He was Troy Township Zoning Inspector for 16 years and served on the Luckey Planning Commission to the present day.

An active member of Kiwanis he held several offices including the office of Lt. Governor in 1976.

Jim also was one of the original three people that started the Luckey Fall Festival in 1983 having chaired the event until 1996. It was the festival where Thompson's Doughnut's became known as a festival family tradition.

Jim is survived by his wife Mary Ann, children: Ricky A. Thompson of Perrysburg, OH, Diane (John) Krukemyer of Bowling Green, OH, Russell (Alecia) Thompson of Cape Coral, FL, stepchildren: James (Michelle) Rader of Columbia Station, OH, Jennifer (Jeff) Paxton of Kansas, OH, grandchildren: Chad Krukemyer, Chelsea (RJ) Vega, Megan (Thomas) Watkins, Mandy Thompson, Montana Thompson, step grandchildren: Kenny Deuel, Logan Paxton, Garrett Rader, Jillian Rader, great grandchildren: Aubree Peacock, Addison Peacock, Beck Paxton, sister: Ethel Lambert of Napoleon, OH, brother: Fred Thompson of Northwood, OH along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his first wife Norma Lou Walker, Jim was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter: Breanne Thompson, sisters: Carol (Thompson) Zdybek and Thelma (Thompson) Bryant.
