Obituary:
Mr. Jackson was born to the late Horace and Celia Sangster Jackson. On Sept. 9, 1950, he married Minnie Taylor Jackson, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 12, 2002. He retired from Empire Detroit Steel and had served in the United States Navy in World War II. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed all Western movies on television. He leaves as his survivors two daughters, Marilyn Jo Jackson and Lois Wellington; two sons, John Fry Sr. and Dan Jackson Jr., all of Mansfield; three sisters, Mozella Montgomery and Erma Taylor, both of Mansfield, Lucille Flagg of Brownsville, Tenn.; a brother, A.D. Jackson of East St. Louis, Missouri; four granddaughters, Tracey Fry, Lynayha Wellington, Takiyah Wellington and Latresia Fry, all of Mansfield; five grandsons, John (Chris) Fry Jr., Dan Jackson III, Taylor Jackson and Jeremy Jackson, all of Mansfield; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Jackson; five brothers, Bill, Horace, Jimmy, Herbert and Booker Jackson; five sisters, Glorine Jackson, Eunice Davis, Fannie Bond, Corneilia Riley and Willene Jackson.

Services:
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m in the Latter Rain C.O.G.I.C. with Elder Louis Blevins, officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the funeral services. The family will receive friends at his home. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
