Eminence, Mayor, Hit By 2 Motors, Injured Seriously
Special to The Courier-Journal.
Eminence, Ky., Dec. 20. --- Dr. E. E. Bickers, physician and Mayor of Eminence, was injured seriously at 6 p.m. when he was struck first, by the automobile of Police Judge Roud O'Nan then by the automobile of Johnny Marcum, pitcher for the Boston Red Sox. The accident occurred on Main St., in the business section.
Dr. Bickers was taken to his home and attended by Dr. A. P. Dowden and Dr. Maurice Bell. Mrs. Bickers and their son, Kenneth Bickers, were in Louisville, unaware of the accident.
Judge O'Nan had just pulled from the curb when his fender struck Dr. Bickers hurling him out into the street. The men were next door neighbors on Elm St. and both were on their way home.
Dr. Bickers fell in the path of Marcum's automobile. The ball player, driving into town from his home near here, stopped before his back wheels had passed over the victim.

SPECIAL DISPATCH TO THE ENQUIRER.
Eminence, March 14 --- Funeral services for Dr. Edward Everett Bickers, 66, former Mayor of Eminence, will be conducted in his home here at 2 o'clock by Rev. P. C. Long of Campbellsburg, assisted by Rev. J. R. Whealdon of Eminence. Burial will be in Eminence.
Dr. Bickers died at the Deaconess Hospital, Louisville, today. He had served three term as Mayor, and for 20 years was Chairman of the Henry County Republican Committee. He was former President of the Henry County Board of Heath, 20 years President of the Board of the Kentucky Odd Fellows and Rebekah Old Folks Home, wand was prominent in the State Masonic Lodge. He once was on the staff of Norton Infirmary, Louisville.
Dr. Bickers is survived by his widow, Edna Taylor Bickers, two sons, Kenneth, of Louisville, and Eugene, of Ghent; two brothers, John, Covington, and Henry, Lockport, and a sister, Mrs. James Dietz, Covington.
