Marlene Wagner Lynn, 82, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2016, in Anchorage, Alaska. She was born on Feb. 8, 1934, to Edith Gertrude Gibbs and Kenith Orville Wagner. She was raised in the small town of Dexter, Mo., and always had fond memories of her hometown. She met her husband of 64 years, Robert S. "Bob" Lynn Sr., on a blind date. They married on Aug. 30, 1953. Marlene led the difficult life of an Air Force wife. She followed her husband around the world, caring for their six children during his military career. When the children grew older, she took a food service position with the Moreno Valley School district in California, where she and her husband lived for 21 years before moving to Alaska in 1995. Marlene enjoyed caring for others, especially her husband. She was blessed with a sassy sense of humor. She liked raising finches and watching hummingbirds. She loved to read suspense novels and watch action-adventure shows. She was a strong Catholic Christian and pro-life advocate. Marlene is survived by her husband, Bob Lynn; six children, Debra Lynn, Bob Lynn Jr., Robyn Mooney, Mary Lynn, Marla Wainscott and John Lynn; 22 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Gwyneth. A funeral mass will be conducted at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Anchorage at 11 a.m., on Monday, July 18, 2016. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to your church or a pro-life cause is suggested. Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
