Tony Dalton Woods, age 81, of Auld Farme Road, Lenoir, died Sunday, July 10, 2016 at his residence. He was born December 4, 1934 in Caldwell County to the late Raby D. and Nell Jones Woods. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jake Robertson.
Mr. Woods retired from the Caldwell County School System as a teacher and was a member of Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Kathy Walters Woods of the home; two daughters, Pamela Woods Jones and husband Harold and Nicole Woods Rice and husband Eric, all of Hickory; one brother, Gene H. Woods and wife Sadie of Patterson; five grandchildren, Hunter Jones, Julianne Robertson, Dalton Rice, Jill Jones Emig and Abby Jones Shuping; two great-grandchildren, Miller Emig and Havilland Shuping; one nephew, Todd R. Woods, Sr.; and one niece, Sarah Woods Dodson .
Celebration of Life services will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 4:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Myron Davis.
Inurnment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
