Born in Omaha, IL on April 12, 1934, he was the son of Ralph and Fern (Eubanks) Campbell.

EAST ALTON — Dwight Eugene Campbell, 82, passed away at 4:48 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.

Born in Omaha, Illinois, on April 12, 1934, he was the son of Ralph and Fern (Eubanks) Campbell.

A Korean War army veteran, he had worked as a ballistics tester for the Winchester Division of Olin for over 40 years before retiring in 1997. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball and was an avid reader.

On August 22, 1958, in Edwardsville, he married Nancy J. Blair. She died May 15, 2011.

Surviving are three sons, Don Campbell (Deborah Long) of Shipman, Dennis (Jolene) Campbell of Moro, and David Campbell of East Alton.

His parents and a stepbrother, Clarence Smith preceded in death.

Burial at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
