John Nelson Stewart, 102, went to be with his Lord and his Sweetheart on July 4, 2016 after a short illness. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on December 10, 1913 to William and Elizabeth Stewart. As a young man he worked with the CCC from 1935 to 1939. He retired from Idaho Animal Products as a truck driver after several years. He married Dorothy Hefner on February 18, 1966 in Nampa, Idaho. John was very generous and liked to make people laugh with his hokes. He loved to go to Jackpot, and playing Bingo at Karcher Estates.
John is survived by his son Billy Stewart; three daughters: Jeanette Williams, Vicky Espinoza and Hope Gray; three step children: Betty Douglas, Jesse Hefner and Diana Cook; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Stewart and a son Mark Allen Stewart.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 7 at Kohlerlawn Cemetery, 76 6th St. North in Nampa. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 6 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd, Nampa. 467-7300 Condolences may be expressed at zeyerfuneralchapel.com.
