Lawrence Russell "Rusty" White passed away July 12, 2014 in Memphis, Tennessee. Rusty was a film journalist and a criminal defense attorney with the Public Defenders Office in Shelby County. He was a knowledgable film fan and wrote the "Hollywood Obituary" column for the EInsiders website during the 2000s. He also conducted interviews with numerous film personalities for his "Film World" blog. White appeared onscreen in several films. He starred in Jeremy Benson's 2005 independent film "The Smallest Oceans" and in the horror film "Shutter" (2005). Rusty worked with Benson again in 2008's "Live Animals". He was seen in his role as Defense Attorney in the television series 48 Hours and American Greed.
He is survived by his daughters Christy White and Lauren White, step son Blair Jacobs (Allison), Mother, Jen Renshaw, sisters, Dr. Joanne Ray and Judy Vandergrift, brothers, Vic White and Christopher White, stepsister Robin Saxon, stepbrothers Sean Saxon and David Saxon, grandchildren, Addison Krueger and Ethan Jacobs and the mothers of his children Sandra "Jeani" Ronda and Teresa "Teri" Blair.
Visitation will begin at 9am followed by a memorial service at 10am Saturday July 26 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery 5668 Poplar Ave Memphis TN.
