Jane Irene Carper, 77, of Kearneysville, WV died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility, Kearneysville, WV.

Born July 1, 1937 in Jefferson County, WV. She was the daughter of Harvey Lawrence Shirley and Annie E. Domer Shirley.

Mrs. Carper was a loving mother and grandmother. She retired from the Charles Town Races in the Mutuel Department.

She was a member of Inwood Family Worship Center, Inwood, WV.

She was an avid Auction and Yard Sale Queen.

She is survived by her daughters, Delores J. Hampshire and husband Mike, Kearneysville, WV, Pamela Rogers, Keanreysville, WV; grandsons, Cody Hampshire and fiancé Ashley and Cory Hampshire; four sisters; three brothers; nieces, nephews and her caring and loving friend, Dr. Mary Lopez.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William F. "Slug" Carper, Jr. who died April 6, 2013 and one brother.

A Graveside Service will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015 at Elmwood Cemetery, Shepherdstown, WV with Bishop David Palmer officiating.

There will be no visitation
