SHERMAN - Michael James Wooldridge, 66-year-old Sherman resident, passed away April 16, 2010 in Detroit, Texas.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Southmayd Baptist Church with Larry Blain officiating.
Mr. Wooldridge was born on Dec. 10, 1943 in Roy, N.M., son of Elmer and Dorothy Kirkland and attended Sherman schools. He married Dorothy Faye Whitworth on July 23, 1963 in Memphis, Texas.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1961-1963. He had been employed by Hobby Lobby and retired from there in 2004.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Wooldridge of Whitesboro; daughters, Cheryl Myers (Max) and Jamie Murray (Darrell), all of Whitesboro; grandson, Ricky Jones of Sherman; granddaughters, Michelle Murray of Tulsa, Okla., Denise Murray and Brooke Murray, both of Whitesboro; stepgranddaughter, Dorothy Myers of Gainesville; sisters, LaDean Casteel of Pasadena, and Joye Thomas of Georgia; brothers, Elton Kirkland of Pottsboro and Richard Kirkland of Granger. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sally Graham.
