Alice Daniel McCallum Givens of Cary North Carolina passed away February 11th 2014 at Cary Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born April 23rd 1917 in Nelson County Virginia. She lived most of her life in Salem and Roanoke Virginia; where she was a long time member of Oakland Baptist Church. Her husband Irvin Carlile Givens, as well as her daughter Louise Carlile Givens predeceased Mrs. Givens. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law George Franklin Givens and Mary Ann Barnett of Cary NC; As well as a brother Edward Lee McCallum of Roanoke VA, plus five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. After retiring from Nelson Roanoke corporation she move to Raleigh NC where she became a resident of Independence Village of Olde, and a member of Ephesus Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday February 28 2014 Ephesus Baptist Church located at 6767 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh NC 27606. Pastor Greg Templin of Ephesus will officiate the service, music will be provided by members of the St Michael's Episcopal Church's adult choir and Kevin Kerstetter, organist and choirmaster. An intermittent service will be held later in the year in the Roanoke VA area.
