Funeral services for Charlie “Robert” Carroll, 71, of Blackville, SC will be held ten a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Ashleigh Baptist Church with the Reverend Bob Scroggs officiating; burial will be in the church cemetery with Military Honors, The family will receive friends from six to eight p.m. on Tuesday, July 12th at Folk Funeral Home, Williston, SC. Memorials may be sent in Robert’s memory to Ashleigh Baptist Church, 14315 Highway # 3 Blackville, SC 29817. Robert passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016.
Born in Bamberg County, SC he was a son of the late Marion Benjamin Carroll and Florie Dell Bassett Carroll and was married to the late Norma Faye Lanham Carroll. He was a member of Ashleigh Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He previously worked as a mechanic at Milliken and Sara Lee Company. He was a U S Navy Veteran having served during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his daughter, Stephanie Dianne Johnson (Billy Williams), a son, Ralph Steven (Sheila) Carroll both of Barnwell; grandchildren, Kayla Renee (David) Guerry, Logan Starr Johnson, Edgar McCoy Johnson, Jr., Connor MacKenzie Johnson, M’Lynne Shelby Carroll; great grandson, Bryson Tyler Guerry; sister, Susie Morris of Blackville; former son-in-law Eddie Johnson, a number of nieces, nephews and his companion Misty .
He was preceded in death by brother, Clyde Carroll.
