Thomas Scott Deyerle
October 2, 1952 ~ April 27, 2014

Carmel ~ The Earth has lost one of its greatest champions. Tom Deyerle passed away last Sunday, April 27, 2014 as he rode his bike while marshaling in the Big Sur Marathon. Tom was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. Tom's selflessness and passion to give back to people in need or distress was evident through his actions and involvement.

Tom was a consummate educator and loved to help people understand the miracle of the universe. He had the ability to appreciate all of the moments in life and see the beauty and significance in each. Some of his last words as his wife went by him at the marathon were, "I love you and I'll see you at the end!" We love you too Tom and we will all see you at the finish line.

Tom is survived by Bobbie, his wife of 39 years; his daughter, Michelle, and son, Steve; four grandchildren, two sisters, three brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a private ceremony with close friends and family.
