Verlene E. McCoy Gourley

At the age of 80 years old, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 7, 2016 in Pullman.

She was born to Otto and Veneta McCoy on April 17, 1936 in Moscow. She grew up and went to school in Moscow and Palouse, graduating from Palouse High School.

She married the love of her life, Gordon Gourley July 21, 1956 at the Moscow Church of the Nazarene. Verlene was a devoted wife and mother of two boys and homemaker. She tried her hand at fishing, hunting, river rafting and motor cycles. Verlene was a quilter, knitter and seamstress. Gordon and Verlene enjoyed camping, travelling and after retirement especially enjoyed their winters in Arizona. Verlene attended the Nazarene Church in Palouse and Moscow, and taught Sunday School class for small children.

Verlene was preceded in death by her mother and father and older brother Oba McCoy. She is survived by her husband Gordon at the family home, two sons: Gale (Tracie) Gourley and Gene Gourley, three grandsons; Michael, Aaron and David, and two brothers; Jay (Marva) McCoy and Lee (Kathi) McCoy all of Moscow.

The memorial service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 16th at the Moscow Church of the Nazarene. A luncheon and time of remembrance will follow in the church fellowship hall.

The family suggests memorials be made to The Hope Center, P.O. Box 8622, Moscow, ID 83843.
