HOPEDALE Lillian M. (O'Rourke) Small, 81, of Hopedale died early Friday morning, Feb. 27, 2009, at Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the widow of Joseph G. Small, who died in 1973. She was born in Milford, the daughter of the late Ernest B. and Theresa L. (Colombo) O'Rourke and lived in Hopedale for the past 58 years. She attended Milford public schools graduating from Milford High School in 1945. She also attended the former Fisher Business School in Boston. Mrs. Small was employed as a secretary at Sears Corp. in Natick for 29 years, retiring in 1989. She was previously employed at Massachusetts Electric Co. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and traveling. She leaves three sons, Edward F. Small, Joseph J. Small and his wife, Susan, and Gerard M. Small and his wife, Ann, ; six grandchildren, Jessica, Danya, Nicole and Kristin, Lindsey and Todd four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of Brian T. Small, who died in 2004. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cedar Street (Rte. 85), in Milford.
