SERVICES HELD WEDNESDAY FOR CHARLES KIFER
Funeral services for Charles W. Kifer, 82, were conducted Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock from the Ubel Funeral Home with the Rev. Mearl Henley of the United Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in Wardvale Methodist Cemetery. Elks Lodge of Sorrow was conducted at 7:30 p.m. Monday and the Masonic services were at 8 p.m.
Pallbearers were Linton Johnson, Lester Keller, Harold Willow, William Davies, George Mendat and Jack Kessler.
He died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Olean General hospital, Olean, N. Y. after an illness of several years.
A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Kifer, he was born November 11, 1884, in McKean county, was a former Johnsonburg resident, residing at 105 Julia Street, was a retired employee of the New York & Pennsylvania Company and resided with his daughter, Mrs. Francis Theodore, at 506 Front Street, Olean, for 15 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, B.P.O.Elks, and a 50 year-member of F.&A.M. 675.
Survivors are his daughter, Mrs. Francis Theodore, Olean, a son, Gerald DeLong, Cleveland, Ohio; a brother, Filmore Kifer, Olean, and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Anderson, Cleveland. There are five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His wife, the
former Laura DeLong, died February 14, 1949.
