He was born April 8, 1927 in Urbana, IL to the late Guy and Margaret (Yates) Taylor.
On May 28, 1950 he was united in marriage to Betty J. (Money) Taylor and she survives.
Guy worked in the air conditioning industry for many years before working at the Lowe’s in Mooresville. He enjoyed model railroading in his spare time.
Along with his parents, Guy was also preceded in death by his son, David A. Taylor.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Betty; two sons, Mark D. Taylor of Mooresville and Brian K. (Susan) Taylor of Shelbyville; daughter, Lori E. (Paul Troup) Messer of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren, Kelli (Ricky) Navare, Kimberli (Brent) Linneman, Adam (Sara) Taylor, Kailene (Rusty) Pitts, Kevin Messer; and five great grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Mooresville Cemetery.
