Mr. Michael Louis (Bubba) Crutcher, the son of the late Roberta Woodford Crutcher and Charles Earl Crutcher, Sr., was born February 6, 1952. He departed this life on July 5, 2016, at NHC Nursing Home in Columbia, Tennessee.
He was educated in the Maury County School system and was a graduate of Columbia Central High School, Class of 1971. He was also a graduate of Columbia State Community College.
He was a dedicated employee of Kroger Store 507 for 46 years. He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and united with the Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, where he sang in the church choir. Michael loved people and had a great smile and a warm greeting for everyone he met. He never forgot a face or a name. Those who knew him were sure to know that he was a fan of Aretha Franklin; he knew her complete bio and every song she recorded. And they also knew how much he loved his pet dog, Spanky.
He was preceded in death by brothers: Charles Earl Crutcher, Jr. (infant) and Terry Wayne Crutcher; sisters: Charlene Crutcher Hill and Gwendolyn Marie Crutcher Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memory siblings: Manuel (Barbara) Crutcher, Samuel (Elizabeth) Crutcher, Joyce Caldwell, Sheryl (Charlie) Crosby, all of Columbia, TN, and Jean (Renardo) Brent of Louisville, KY; brother-in-law James Jones of Forsyth, GA, sister-in-law Glenda Crutcher of Louisville, KY, several nieces, nephews, cousins, devoted friends Walter Holt (classmate), Calvanitta Frierson, Dennis Nichols, Wanda Grandberry, Brenda Duke, Diane Moore, employees of Kroger store 507 and the Gray Family.
Michael’s Celebration of Life service is Sunday, July 10, 2016, at 2:00p.m. at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia. The body will lie in state at V. K. Ryan &Son Funeral Home in Columbia July 9 from noon-6 p.m. and at the church from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday, July 10. Interment is in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. V.K. Ryan &Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
