Kate M Caulkins, 88, died early Wednesday morning at Victory memorial Hospital following a lingering illness. She was born on Nov 2, 1876 in marion Co, Iowa and was the dau of Jefferson Alonzo & Frances margaret (Henry) mcMannis. On Dec 27, 1905, she married Curtis M Caulkins at Chariton, Lucas Co, Iowa. They lived in Iowa until 1920 and then farmed in the twon of Aurora in Taylor Co, WI until 1944 when they moved to Stanley. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Curtis, a daughter, Cleta (mrs. Thomas Westaby) Stanley, a brother, Jobe Mcmannis of Chariton, and 4 grand & 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, 2 brothers, and 4 sisters.
