GRANT PATTERSON DIES AT ULMAN AT AGE OF 77
Grant Patterson, respected farmer of the Ulman community all his life, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Grace Cardwell, near Ulman, Thursday. Mr. Patterson at the time of death was 77 years and eight months old, and had been suffering from a lingering illness for the past year or more as the result of two paralytic strokes.
Mr. Patterson was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Patterson,
pioneers of the Ulman community and was born at Ulman on August 19, 1868. On September 12, 1888, he was united in marriage to Miss Emma Crane, who preceded him in death some two years ago. To the marriage two daughters and four sons were born, Mrs. Grace Cardwell of Ulman, Walter Patterson of Crocker, Chester Patterson of Watkins, and Clint and Cliff Patterson of St. Louis, who survive with one daughter dead. He leaves 13 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren, as well as one sister and one brother, Mrs. Laura Carico of Jefferson City and Charles Patterson of Ulman.
Mr. Patterson was a member of the Church of Christ and was
known to be honorable and held in high esteem by everyone who knew him.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Virgil Smith of Brumley Saturday with interment in the Gott Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Walter, Chester, Clint and Cliff Patterson, Fred Cardwell and Lloyd Kallenbach.
