Edward Harper Sr., 81, of Ambler Ridge, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.

Ed attended Mile Fork Tabernacle Church and was a hard working man that also served his country in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed bird watching and all of natures wildlife and flowers, but most of all, Ed loved his family and spending time with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Lori (Ray) Harper; wife of 46 years, Goldie Marie (Taylor) Harper; daughter, Donna Marie Harper; four brothers; and four sisters.

He is survived by his sons, Edward Harper Jr. of Charleston, Joe (Linda) Harper of Crede, and David (Dana) Harper of Charleston; brother, Roger Harper; sister,Lucy Teel; and two grandchildren, Justin and Katrina.

Service will be noon Sunday, July 10, at Hafer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Norvell Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in Elk Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to noon prior to the funeral.
