ELKHART, IN. — Jacqueline Rose “Jackie” Mann, 86, of Elkhart, passed away at 2:05 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Courtyard Healthcare Center in Goshen.

She was born June 9, 1930, in Pierceton, IN. to Louie John and Kathryn Lucille (Gawthrop) Nebro.

She graduated in 1948 from Syracuse High School.

On May 26, 1966, in Goshen, she married Ray Alan Mann who preceded her in 1980. She was a lifetime Kosciusko and Elkhart counties area resident except for a few years in Kentucky and Washington D.C. She was a retired bookkeeper and formerly volunteered for a domestic violence group for the YMCA in Elkhart.

She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Elkhart and Moose Lodge in Goshen. She formerly attended the First United Methodist Church in Elkhart where she was a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir for many years. She was a former member of the Optimist Club in Elkhart and was a mentor for children in several of the Elkhart County schools.

She is survived by two daughters, Michele (Larry) Lockhart of Syracuse and Yvonne (Denny) Paff of Goshen; son, Robert (Laura) Line of Cromwell;seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; half sister, Sherry (Denny) Riedel of Elkhart; and half brother Ted (Louise) Burson of Manistee, MI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother John Nebro and stepbrother Robert Burson.

Visitation was from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 9, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services followed at 3 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Sam Needham of the church officiating. Burial followed the service in McClintic Cemetery.
