Services were held Thursday, Oct. 26 for Bertha Louise Hill, 96,of Redwood Falls, who died Oct. 22, 1989 at Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls. Rev. Cindy Gregorson officiated and interment was in the Tracy Cemetery.
Bertha Hill was born March 24, 1894 in Cottonwood County, a daughter of Andrew and Kjersti Takle Munson. After her father died, she was three years old, she and her mother made their home with her grandmother Takle. She attended Walnut Grove School.
Her marriage to Ray Menter Hill took place in the Methodist parsonage at Marshall Sept. 17, 1914. They lived at Walnut Grove before moving to Balaton. He died April 6, 1963 and she continued to live at Balaton until moving to Redwood Falls in 1973.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Balaton and a 22-year member of Redwood Falls Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Agnes Hill Dobmeier of Redwood Falls; a granddaughter, Nancy Hill and her sons, Chad and Mark of Sunburg; grandson, Clarence Dobmeier Jr. and wife, Nancy and their children, Brett and Brittany of Alexandria. She was preceded in death by her son, Menter, and a sister, Christine Munson.
Attending the funeral were the immediate survivors and cousins, Ira Takle of St. Paul, Mr. and Mrs. John Takle and Carroll Takle of Walnut Grove, Mrs. Karen Klein of Wood Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Louie Johnson of Russell, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon McDaniel of Marshall, Mrs. Eva Hallenbeck of Hadley, Geneva Christians of Worthington,Mr. and Mrs. Howard Nelson of Westbrook, Anna Kronbach and Verona Holm of Tracy.
