Hannah was the last surviving member of the Abbott family from Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire, England, who arrived at Holdfast Bay, South Australia, on the HMS Buffalo on 28th December 1836.
Hannah was 7 years old when she arrived with her parents Giles and Sarah and siblings Ann, John and Giles. Hannah's first husband, Isaac Clarke (m. 1847) died on 21 Jun 1857 at Port Elliot, South Australia aged 35 years. His burial site cannot be accurately confirmed. Hannah remarried in 1859.
Hannah resided in Currency Creek, Middleton and North Adelaide. She worked as a mantle maker and boarding house keeper.
