Tony Boone, the son of Gerrit and Phoebe (Veenstra) Boone, was born at Sheldon, Iowa on July 1, 1914. He lived his youth in Sioux County and the Sanborn area where he also received his education.
Tony worked for the Rossman Bakery until his illness. Tony's parents cared for him until he moved to the Verdoorn Nursing Home at Ashton, Iowa. He entered Prairie View Home at Sanborn, Iowa, on September 22, 1973, where he was residing at the time of his death.
He died at Baum Harmon Hospital at Primghar, Iowa, on September 29, 1995, at the age of 81 years, two months and 28 days.
He is survived by two brothers: Edward Boone of Sheldon and Charles Boone of Sanborn; two sisters: Rosella Gorsett of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Nelvina Sterk of Sheldon; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Raymond, and one sister, Betty Van Holland.
Tony was a member of the Sanborn Christian Reformed Church. When he was younger, Tony enjoyed hunting, and will be remembered by his family and friends as an avid reader.
Funeral services were held October 3 at the Sanborn Funeral Home with Rev. William Haak officiating. Burial was in Roseland Cemetery, Sanborn.
