BROWN, Elsie "Melvina" - 81, Salt Springs Road, Cumberland Co., formerly of South Brook, Cumberland Co., passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2006, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Nappan. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Myrtle (Canning) Pugsley. She was an adherent of Mapleton United Church and a member of The Riverside Temple No. 36 Pythian Sisters, Southampton. She enjoyed knitting, quilting and her family. She is survived by daughter, Helen (Ivan Hachey) Smiley, Salt Springs; sons, Denton (Linda) Brown, South Brook; Robert (Linda) Brown, Springhill; sisters, Joan (Bruce) Crowe, Truro; Mary Ann Fickes, Annapolis Royal; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Lemert Brown; brothers, Stewart and Horace; sister, Doris. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, where the funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, Rev. Bob Mack officiating. Burial in South Brook Cemetery, Cumberland County. If so desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice would be appreciated
