Janice A. (Cooney) Meyer (1934 - 2014)
Janice A. Meyer, 79, of Jacksonville passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014, at her residence.
Janice was born Nov. 29, 1934, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Harold and Lola Mae (Owens) Cooney.
Janice married Mr. Meyer on May 8, 1954, in Jacksonville and he survives.
Janice is survived in passing by her brother & wife of Springfield.
Janice is preceded in passing by her parents; and two sisters, Patricia M. Lawless (Cooney) & Mildred Haney (Cooney)
Mrs. Meyer was a 1952 graduate of Routt Catholic High School.
Janice had been a medical records clerk for her brother-in-law, Dr. Walter Meyer, and then for Dr. Madhusudan Vallala until her retirement.
Janice was a member of Church of Our Saviour.
Janice enjoyed knitting, reading and spending time with surviving husband in Florida, where she especially enjoyed searching for nesting sea turtles.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2014, at Church of Our Saviour, with internment at Calvary Cemetery. A prayer service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville, where the family will meet friends following the prayer service until 3 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Church of Our Saviour or to Our Savior Grade School.
