Douglas P. Morrison, 62, of Plainville, died suddenly on Tuesday (July 5, 2016) at Bristol Hospital. Doug was born on May 3, 1954 in Boston, MA and was a son of Donald and Alberta (Van Ness) Morrison. He grew up in Bristol where he graduated from Bristol Central High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving aboard the USS Shreveport (LPD12). He worked at Camp Hazen YMCA in Chester. Doug loved animals and enjoyed his dog, Max. In addition to his parents of Charlton, MA, Doug is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Ian D. Morrison and Kayla Stapleton of Bristol; a daughter: Noelle Morrison of Plainville; former wife: Donna (Drezek) Morrison; a brother, Robert Morrison and his wife, Deborah, of Point Kittery, ME; a sister: Janet Morrison of Old Lyme; two grandsons: Aeden and Liam Morrison; nieces, Sarah and Emily Morrison; nephew, Samuel Morrison. He also leaves behind his In-Law family: Edward and Jeanette Drezek, Richard, Maritess, Shaun, and Sabrina Drezek, and Daniel, Nicky, and Kristina Drezek; and many friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Saturday (July 9, 2016) between 2 and 4 PM. A graveside service and burial will be held at a later date in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
