Dorothy Patricia Stevenson Duszik, 94, passed away at 3:12 p.m. on July 7, 2016 surrounded by family. She was born in Powderly, TX in Lamar County January 12, 1922 to Salathiel Stevenson (Mr. Steve) and Musa Stevenson (Mrs. Steve).

She and her family moved from Lamar County to Longview in the early 30’s with the pipeline company in which her father was employed. She attended Campus Ward and Longview High school where she played the bass drum in the high school band.

After high school she worked for Southern Gas and Electric Co. The family were members of First Baptist Church Longview where she met Bala Duszik who was attending LeTourneau University. They married on April 24, 1948 and had 3 sons who were the love of her life. Both Bala and Dorothy were very involved in the church, teaching in Sunday school for nearly 50 years, following in her Mother and Sister’s example of service to the Church and teaching God’s children.

In her later years she would fix lunches for the guys who worked with Bala and her sons at Duszik Construction, she would work with Bala and sweep the floors and help do what she could on the job. She enjoyed every minute she could be with Bala and her sons.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Salathiel and Musa Stevenson, sister and brother in law, Howard and Janet Wilson and husband, Bala Duszik.
