Anthony “Tony” Wayne Raper, 68, died on July 2, 2016 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. His memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 7314 East Lakeview Road Stillwater, Oklahoma at the home of Eugene and Ruth Harting.
He was born on January 13, 1948 to Clyde Colen Raper and Bertha Marie Raper in Yale, Oklahoma. He married Ruth Evans Harting on January 1, 1970 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. They were married for 28 years.
He graduated from Stillwater High School where he went to the Navy at 17 years old where he spent two tours in Vietnam. His first tour was on USS Ajax Repair Ship and his second tour on USS St. Paul which was the last all gun heavy cruiser on the Navy, firing the most combat rounds in the war. He was also a member of the Captains Honor guard and also in the Army National Guard. He was also a retired Oklahoma State University Police Officer where he served from 1976 until 2002. Tony loved riding his horses and motorcycles.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father.
He is survived by his one son, Shane Raper and wife, Misty; one daughter Mandy Williamson and husband, Burke; two grandchildren; Elias and Edie. Brother Brian Raper and wife, Vicki; and sister Phyllis Raper Shipley and husband, Norman Shipley and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.
