Thomas Earl Humphrey passed from this life on July 1, 2016 at 4:20am in Nonthaburi, Thailand. He was born on August 11, 1943 in Trenton, New Jersey. He was 72.

Tom lived in Terra Haute, Indiana as a child and moved to Coon Hollow Farm (now Peterson Farm) near New Hope, KY with his family in the early 1950's. Being the son of William Thomas Humphrey, he worked his way up to General Manager and eventually President of Bourbon Cooperage (now Kentucky Cooperage) in Lebanon. He established the original Kentucky Cooperage (now Canton Cooperage) on Fairgrounds Road in Lebanon. He worked with Cox Interior for a short time before moving to Thailand to build the first barrel cooperage in Southeast Asia. He returned to the states years later to work to establish East Bernstadt Cooperage near London, KY. He since returned again to live in Thailand with his wife, Kob and step-son, Ton. Over the years he worked for many companies to establish their cooperages, including McGinnis Wood Products in Cuba, MO. and others in Southeast Asia.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas Humphrey and Gladys Cecil Humphrey, his only brother, David Clifford Humphrey, his two sons, Thomas Richard (Ricky) Humphrey and Joseph David Humphrey. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Nisachol (Kob) Luksanawaree Humphrey of Nonthaburi, Thailand, one daughter, Lisa Marie (Robert) Williams of Raleigh, NC & Loretto, KY, a step-son, Tanatip (Ton) Hongsuwan of Thailand. He has one grand-daughter, Ramey Morris and three grand-sons, Zachery Morris, Dylan & Dustin Humphrey. One niece, Catherine Humphrey Wilmoth and one nephew John William Humphrey both of Arkansas.

A full Buddhist-Catholic ceremony took place July 6th in Thailand. There will be a memorial ceremony later this year at Holy Cross Church, Holy Cross, KY. Detail will follow as soon as possible.
