Clinton, known as Buzz to his family and friends, grew up in Carlsbad, New Mexico and later in Tucson, Arizona.

Buzz and his wife Karen had known each other in Carlsbad, New Mexico. They married about 10 days before he shipped to Vietnam.

He was drafted into the Army in early 1968 and went to Vietnam on August 31, 1968 as an armored crewman. He was killed in action on his 21st birthday, April 29, 1969. His wife was living in Alpine, Tex when he was killed in Vietnam.

He is remembered on the Permian Basin Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Midland, Texas.

A mother and father lost their son, a young wife lost her husband and a young man gave his life. May their sacrifices never be forgotten.
