Samuel J. Miller, son of John C. and Fannie (Hochstetler) Miller, was born in Johnson Co., Iowa, Aug. 24, 1894; died at the Mercy Hospital, in Iowa City, April 24, 1926; aged 31 y. 8 m. At the age of six years he moved with his parents to Reno Co., Kans., where he grew to manhood and where on Oct. 14, 1914, he was married to Barbara C. Miller. In March, 1925, he moved with his family back to Iowa, near Kalona, where all who learned to know him learned to respect him for his kind and cheerful disposition and his Christian life. They were the parents of 3 daughters and 2 sons. Religion: Mennonite
