KENNESAW, Ga. — Nellie Jane Boothe Vance Shelton, 96, our beloved mother and grandmother, a long-time resident of Bramwell, passed away Saturday September 11, 2010 at home in Kennesaw, Ga.

Born July 26, 1914 in Tazewell, Va., she was a daughter of the late Alfred Anacin Alexandar and Orpha Lavonia Meredith Boothe. She was a seamstress, wife and mother. She was a member of Bramwell Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and two brothers; husbands, Clint Vance and Louie E. Shelton; son, William H. “Jim” Vance; and grandson, Guy Vance.

Survivors include her sister, Janice M. Thomas of Ocala, Fla.; son, Fields “Pete” Vance of Sanford, Fla.; two stepsons, James F. Shelton of Dunlap, Ill., and Emory K. Shelton of Valville, ll.; four grandchildren, Lynne D. Cosgriff of Vancouver, Wash., Williams J. “Jeff” Vance of Bluewell, Glenn E. “Emory” Vance of Rockhill, S.C. and Gary Vance of Kennesaw, Ga.; many great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Cravens Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with the Reverend Jim Milam officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
