Edgar P Brandt, 73, 20 Pine Hill Trail, Carroll Valley, died at 2:15 Sunday afternoon at the Warner Hospital shortly after arrival in the Fairfield Amvets Community ambulance. He had been in ill health for five years.
A native of York, he was a son of the late John and Lizzie Brandt. A retired machinist with the U.S. government after 30 years, he had resided in Carroll Valley for the last seven years. HE was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Fairfield, the Good Samaritan lodge of the Masons of Gettysburg, the Fairfield Loins Club, the Fairfield Senior Citizens and served as borough fire marshal and head of Civil defense in the borough of Carroll Valley. He was a member of the Carroll Valley Citizens' Association council.
Surviving are his wife, the former Beatrice Diehl Brandt; two sons, Martin L Brandt, Knoxville, Tenn., and David R Brandt, Manning SC; two daughters, Mrs. Jacqueline Marquardt, Columbia, Md., and Mrs. Barbara Ann Taubersmith, Oxon Hill, Md., 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon from the Wilson Funeral Home in Fairfield with his pastor, the Rev. David Hunsberger, officiating. Burial will be in the Fairfield Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Adams County Cancer Society.
