She was the daughter of Maryland and Clara Ilene (Brummit) Samons. On Jul 21, 2007, she married Roger L. Wood, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are a daughter: Melissa Hatcher, Lima; six siblings: Jerry (Janet) Stewart, Ronald Samons, James Samons, Edith Starkey, David Samons and Donnie Samons, all Lima; and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers: Carl Samons, William Wilcox and Douglas Samons; and a sister-in-law, Alice Perry.
A 1971 graduate of the Lima Senior High School, she had worked for 24 years as a press operator with Hayes Albion, Spencerville, from which she retired. She was a member of the Ark of the Covenant Church. She loved spending time with her family.
Services will be at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel, with Pastor Arnold Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
