Susan Patton, age 61, of Avilla, died on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at home.
Mrs. Patton was born in Kendallville, Indiana on December 3, 1954 to the late Robert Refner and Betty Lou Wells.
She graduated from Garrett High School in 1973.
She married Gordon Patton on June 19, 1981 in Kendallville.
Susan was employed with Mossburg Industries in Garrett for 12 years. She loved to gardening, flowers, going to garage sales and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include: Her husband of 35 years, Gordon Patton of Avilla. Step son, Timothy W. Patton and Steven Hardiek of Cape Canaveral, Florida. Step son, Daniel W. Patton of Avilla. Step daughter, Teresa A. and Noah Jewell of Fort Wayne. 6 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren.
Sister, Mary L. Eicher of Antwerp, Ohio. Three nieces: Nicole Walters of Hicksville, Ohio; Megan Traxler of Cecil, Ohio; and Bridget Joseph of Fort Wayne. 3 great nephews and 1 great niece. Brother, James Refner of Pleasant Lake. Brother, Greg Refner of Angola. Half sister, Kim and Bobby Ritchie of Brimfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Shane M. Kaiser who died in 1986.
Visitation will be Friday, July 8, 2016 from 4-8:00pm at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 11:00am at Hite Funeral Home.
Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Kenneth Beverly.
Burial will be at Christian Union Cemetery near Garrett.
