Born in Newtown, April 27, 1931, he was a son of the late William and Katie Klinger Renninger.
He was a retired mechanic from Renninger's Garage, Newtown.
Leroy was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Llewellyn, Newtown Fire Company, Newtown Gun Club, Trails End Hunting Club and Black Rock Hunting Club.
He will be remembered for being a hardworking man who had a true talent with woodworking. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His family meant the world to him. He will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie Schneck Renninger, July 12, 2008; brother, Earl Renninger; sister, Sarah Wetzel.
Surviving are six children, Jean Marie Bensinger, New Ringgold, Lois Donmoyer and her husband, Ralph, Newtown, Susan Lehman and her husband, Craig, Pine Grove, Linda Becker and her husband, Ted, Newtown, Larry Renninger and his wife, Dottie, Pine Grove, and Fay Kender and her husband, Butch, Tremont; a sister, Elsie Moyer, Newtown; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer, Kevin, Jason, Michael, Cody, Heidi, Jeremy, Jeff, Wendy, Seagey, Jessica and Nicole; 20 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chapel of Dimon Funeral Home Inc., Tower City, with the Rev. Linda Bonfiglio officiating. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
