TROY - Lydia Theresa (Koblensky) Lewis, 91, passed away July 5, 2016 surrounded by her family.

Born on December 2, 1924 in Troy, NY, Lydia was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Borys) Koblensky.

Lydia grew up in Cohoes, NY where she attended Cohoes High School.

Prior to her marriage to Richard W. Lewis in 1955, Lydia was employed by the Paper Makers Union office.

They moved to Speigletown where they raised their three sons and a daughter.

Lydia was a Den Mother and a founding member of St. Bonaventure’s Church where she enjoyed being a Sunday School teacher, a member of the choir and working on Bingo and countless banquets.

Lydia's favorite team was the New York Yankees. Derek Jeter and Bernie Williams were her favorites, and loved telling everyone how she came within inches of grabbing a Jeter foul ball at Yankee Stadium. Another past time of Lydia’s was watching old movies. She loved visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and especially loved her name "Baga Juicy" that was given to her by her granddaughter Sydnie Lewis.

Lydia is survived by her children, Richard (Deborah) Lewis, Ronald Lewis, Randy (Tracy) Lewis and Robin (James) Delaney. She had 10 grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan and Craig Michael Lewis, Tony (Nancy) Lewis, Danny Lewis, Ronda (Gregory) Kennedy, Robert (Alyssa) Griffin, Eric Lewis, Paige (Matthew) Martin and Sydnie Lewis. Lydia also had eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, Joseph (Tamara) Lewis, Vincent Lewis, Devlin, Paul and Charlotte Maze, Acelynn Lewis, Mia Griffin, Carleigh Martin, Jace and Ava Lewis. In addition Lydia is survived by her dear friends, Shirley Anderson and Charles Spall, Robin Schuyler and Peyton Leahy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Lydia was predeceased by her brothers, Stephen, John, Bernard, Charles, Joseph and Richard Koblensky.

She was also predeceased by sisters Josephine Stewart, Mary Darwak, Anna Pilla, Lena Grudecki, Helen Campbell and Theresa McGinnis.

The family would like to thank the sixth floor staff of the Samaritan Hospital for their wonderful and caring support as well as Carrie and Cassi at Evergreen Commons who provided special care to Lydia.
