Marshfield, Mass., July 30 - Funeral services will be held here tomorrow afternoon for Dr. Edmund Kimball Alden, former Brooklyn educator, who died suddenly yesterday in his 81st year. The rites will take place in the home of his niece, Miss Edith Sprague. Dr. Alden for many years was a member of the faculty of Packer Collegiate Institute in Brooklyn, where he was head of the history department. He was a direct descendant of John Alden of the Mayflower Puritans and frequently visited Brooklyn to renew his old friendships. In 1925 he returned to Packer Institute to give a series of addresses. Dr. Alden was the husband of the late Emilie Pellissier Alden who died in 1922. Mrs. Alden was prominent in the Brooklyn Woman's Club and was active in the First Presbyterian Church, Brooklyn. Surviving Dr. Alden are three daughters, Mrs. Marguerite Alden Walker, Mrs. Marie Alden Brown and Mrs. Louise Alden Kingman.
