Mr. Jimmy Newton, age 68, passed July 5, 2016 at his home in Counce, TN.

Funeral services for Mr. Newton will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends beginning at 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville. Reverend John Howell will officiate the service.

Born to the late Floyd Edward Davis and Lera Beaird Davis on December 4, 1947 in Batesville, MS., Jimmy was one of eight children. Jimmy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a contractor by trade and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. During his spare time he enjoyed gardening.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife; Pat Newton of Counce, TN, his children; Sandy Guntharp of Memphis, TN, Diana Dubois of Batesville, MS, Claudia Zujkowski of N.J., Jerry Newton of Tupelo, MS, his step children; Kim Sides of Southaven, MS, Nicole Howard of Corinth, MS, Dustin Nix of Batesville, MS, Katrina Caine of Batesville, MS, his sisters; Linda Brown and Mary Joe Foster both of Batesville, MS, Debra Keel of Hernando, MS, his brother; Billy Davis of Batesville, MS, and 8 Grandchildren; Jordan Williams, Adriane Newton, Lake Duboise, Anna Zujkowski, Bo Howard, Brittanie Howard, Baylee Howard, and Sydney Sides.
