Funeral services were held Wednesday, 5 December at St John's Lutheran Church in Ashippun for Gerhard C. Braunschweig, 72. He died Saturday, 1 December, at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital after a short illness. The Rev William Chellew officiated at the service.
Braunschweig, of Ashippun, was born 10 October 1907, in the town of Ashippun, the son of William and Mary Krueger Braunschweig. On 10 September 1938 he was married to the former Ada Grosenick at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon. He resided in Ashippun and farmed there most of his life.
He was a member of the board of directors of Ashippun Lumber Company, and was a life long member of St John's Lutheran Church in Lebanon.
Braunschweig is survived by his wife, Ada; two daughters, his brothers, Clarence (Mabel), Ashippun, Paul (Erna), Ashippun, and Wilmer (Doris), Lebanon, Wisconsin; his mother-in-law, Mrs Mary Grosenick, Lebanon; and five
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
Burial was at St John's Lutheran Cemetery.
