WEAVERVILLE – Phyllis Charsky Griffith, age 85, of Weaverville died Tuesday, July 5, 2016.
Mrs. Griffith was born August 20, 1930 in Genesee County, NY to the late Arthur Otto and Mildred Barfield Charsky. She was a resident of Booneville, NY as a child where she first met her husband. As teens they were baptized by her father in the church he pastored prior to the family moving.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Richard Griffith; daughter, Sylvia Hamilton and husband Chuck; sons, David Griffith and wife Pat, Tim Griffith and wife Jeannie; brother, Eugene Charsky and wife Marion.
Her funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2016, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Bob Belford officiating. Burial will be in Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain. (Edited by Jeff Lovelace.)
